Day 7

Subject: 5-4-3-2-1 [firstname]'s membership site is ready to launch!

Hey [firstname],

Once your website is all set up and ready to roll, it's time to get the word out and start signing up members.

If you're starting a freemium or subscription website, it's a good idea to offer a free trial so potential members can see what's on your site or what it does. Many credit card processors will let you set things up so that, unless a subscriber cancels during the free trial period, they're automatically enrolled as a fully paid member and billed accordingly.

The process of launching your membership website is similar to launching any other website or online product offering. You need to build awareness and curiosity, and make a big splash to get people to your site on launch day.

If you already have a mailing list in the same niche as your membership site, you can send mailings to list members and really build a buzz about your membership site. Otherwise, solo ads are a good way of getting the word out.

With a solo ad, you pay someone who has a niche mailing list to send an e-mail to list members telling them about your forthcoming site. This type of advertising works well because it's highly targeted.

Here's a tip

When you send your solo ad, get people to register their interest; in other words, sign up to a mailing list of YOURS which you can use to send them more information without having to pay for another solo ad.

You can also use press releases. Press releases are old school, but they work. Hire a professional writer to write the release for you, and use a paid distributor to circulate it. If it gets picked up by a major publication, you may get more publicity than you could have imagined in your wildest dreams.

To your success!

Warmly,

[Your name]
